What to wear under a shayla: tie caps explained
The small piece that stops slipping, hides your hairline and keeps your shayla neat all day.

If your shayla keeps sliding back, the answer is usually underneath it. A tie cap is a thin, breathable underscarf that holds your hair and gives the shayla something to grip.
How a tie cap works
You put it on like a band, tie it at the back of the neck and adjust it to your forehead. The shayla then sits on top and stays in place with one or two pins.
Which colour to choose
Match the cap to your hijab, or choose black and nude so you have one for dark shades and one for light shades.
Pins and the essentials
Bulb pins hold the shayla at the shoulder without snagging the fabric. The essential kit has everything in one set.

Questions
Is a tie cap hot in summer?
Ours is a thin, breathable jersey, so it is comfortable in the UAE heat.
Do I need a tie cap with a jersey hijab?
Not always. Jersey stays in place on its own, but a cap still helps keep hair neatly covered.
